The talks also focused on plans to establish an Egyptian-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and activate a joint business council aimed at boosting economic cooperation and increasing bilateral trade.
Madbouly said Egypt was seeking to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan across a range of sectors and looked forward to continued coordination with Tashkent in international forums.
He said Egypt's location could provide Uzbekistan with access to markets across the Middle East and Africa, pointing to the presence of Egyptian companies involved in infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan and existing Egyptian investments in electrical appliance manufacturing.
The two sides also discussed regional developments and Egypt's efforts to contain tensions and address regional crises, including Cairo's position on the Palestinian issue.
Saidov conveyed greetings from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and said his visit would help strengthen bilateral relations.
The Uzbek foreign minister said his country was interested in launching joint infrastructure projects and expanding cooperation in sectors including agricultural machinery, automobile manufacturing, fertilizers, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
He described Egypt as a gateway to neighbouring markets and said Uzbekistan could similarly serve as a platform for Egypt's access to Central Asia. He also proposed cooperation between economic zones, industrial zones, and local authorities in both countries.
Saidov reaffirmed Uzbekistan's support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital and referred to his country's humanitarian and medical assistance to Palestinians in Gaza.
The meeting also reviewed coordination between Egypt and Uzbekistan in international forums, including the Non-Aligned Movement.
At the conclusion of the talks, Madbouly said he had instructed the Foreign Ministry to follow up on proposals discussed during the meeting and work towards their implementation.
Egypt and Uzbekistan have expanded political and economic ties in recent years. Relations received a boost during President Mirziyoyev's first state visit to Egypt in February 2023, when the two countries signed a series of agreements covering sectors including pharmaceuticals, textiles, energy and healthcare.
In December 2024, the two countries held the seventh session of their Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation after a 15-year hiatus, underscoring renewed momentum in bilateral relations.
