Observed annually on 21 June, the International Day of Yoga was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014 following a proposal by India. Participation in the annual event has grown steadily in Egypt, attracting government institutions, diplomats, cultural organizations and yoga enthusiasts.
India and Egypt have increasingly used cultural exchanges to strengthen bilateral relations in recent years, with yoga emerging as one of the platforms for people-to-people engagement between the two countries.
