The meeting came hours after the US and Iran agreed to a peace deal and an immediate and permanent end to more than three months of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, according to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to the Egyptian presidency, both leaders discussed several regional issues of mutual concern, affirming the importance of ongoing Arab coordination to safeguard the security and interests of Arab states.
During the meeting, President El-Sisi outlined Egypt’s vision for addressing developments in the region, which is based on supporting comprehensive and sustainable peaceful solutions.
These solutions, the presidential statement said, are aimed at restoring regional security and stability while directing countries' resources toward development rather than conflict.
The talks also addressed ways to further strengthen the outstanding bilateral relations between Cairo and Abu Dhabi, with President El-Sisi affirming the special and deeply rooted strategic nature of Egyptian-Emirati relations.
He also reiterated Egypt’s firm support for the stability and sovereignty of the UAE and for all measures taken by its leadership to preserve the country's territorial integrity, security, and the well-being of its people.
According to the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi stressed that the security of the UAE and the Gulf states is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, reaffirming Cairo's commitment to supporting Gulf countries and all Arab states.
For his part, the Emirati leader expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception, underscoring the strong official and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Bin Zayed also emphasized his keenness to maintain continuous consultations with President El-Sisi on developments in bilateral relations and regional issues, expressing his country's appreciation for El-Sisi's supportive stance toward the UAE and Gulf states.
According to the Egyptian presidency, President El-Sisi hosted a luncheon in honour of his Emirati counterpart and the accompanying delegation.
The UAE president’s fraternal visit to Cairo comes as part of ongoing consultations between the leaderships of the two countries on bilateral and regional issues.
