The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the Huawei Cloud Fintech Summit 2026 in Cairo, aims to accelerate the development of next-generation digital investment services by leveraging cloud infrastructure, AI technologies, and secure digital solutions.

Under the partnership, the two companies will explore innovation initiatives designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and support the delivery of more intelligent and secure financial services.

The deal comes amid growing demand for digital financial products in Egypt, where fintech adoption has accelerated in recent years as part of the country's broader digital transformation agenda.

Huawei Cloud said the partnership builds on its efforts to strengthen Egypt's financial technology ecosystem through cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities tailored to the needs of financial institutions.

"Today, we are building on that momentum through our partnership with Thndr as we work together to deliver advanced cloud and AI solutions that enhance the efficiency of digital financial services and enable more intelligent customer experiences," said Jo Xu, CEO of Huawei Cloud Egypt.

For his part, Ahmad Hammouda, co-founder and CEO of Thndr, said the company is seeking to expand access to investment services across Egypt and the wider region through technology-driven solutions.

"Achieving this mission requires strong technology foundations that can support growth, resilience, security, and an exceptional customer experience," Hammouda said.

The partnership is expected to support the development of AI-enabled financial services while strengthening the digital infrastructure underpinning Egypt's investment and fintech sectors.

Huawei Cloud launched its Egypt cloud region in 2024, establishing what it describes as the country's first large-scale public cloud region. The company noted that its infrastructure supports data sovereignty requirements by enabling financial institutions to process and store sensitive data within Egypt in line with local regulatory requirements.

The company also provides cloud services that comply with regulations set by Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), supporting the localization of financial data and the development of secure digital financial services.

The agreement reflects growing investment in cloud and artificial intelligence technologies across Egypt's financial sector as institutions seek to improve efficiency, expand digital offerings, and strengthen competitiveness in an increasingly digital economy.
