Israeli drone strikes hit two vehicles in the town of Mayfadoun and another in nearby Shukeen, both in the Nabatieh area, "leading to an initial toll of four dead" and others wounded, Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) said.
While Israeli violence slightly declined in Lebanon after the US-Iran agreement to end the war was announced on Monday, Israeli bombardement of the south have now killed at least five people since, according to the NNA.
The reduction in violence has allowed some south Lebanon residents to return and inspect their towns and villages, after being forcibly displaced by Israeli occupation forces, but the Lebanese army has urged locals to delay their return, citing "the risk of Israeli violations and attacks".
Lebanon's health ministry on Tuesday raised the death toll in Israeli attacks since March 2 to 3,826, as rescuers pull bodies from the rubble.
The Hezbollah resistance group has attacked Israeli forces in Lebanon and northern Israel on March 2 to avenge the Israeli-US killing of Iran's supreme leader.
Israel since then launched a massive bombardments and a ground invasion, occupying further territories in Lebanon. Even before the recent escalation, the Israeli occupation forces have killed over 331 people across the country in blatant violations of the truce, concluded in November 2024.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that an end to the war would be incomplete "without the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories it occupied in this war".
"Any military attack by the Zionist regime on Lebanon from now on and the continued occupation of Lebanese territories from now on will be considered a violation of the memorandum of understanding in our view," he added.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that the country's forces would remain in Lebanon "for as long as necessary," sparking Donald Trump criticism.
Speaking at the G7 summit alongside the Emir of Qatar, the US president said: “Without the United States, there would be no Israel. Without me, there would be no Israel, because no other president was willing to do what I did.
In a sweeping broadside against Netanyahu, he added that “Israel has been fighting Hezbollah too long and too many people are being killed, and you don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody because there are a lot of people in those apartment houses, and they’re not all Hezbollah.”
The US president also criticised Israel’s attack on Lebanon “two hours before we’re signing the agreement”.
