Television footage showed the two leaders meeting shortly before bilateral discussions amid heightened diplomatic activity in the Middle East following the recently announced US-Iran agreement and ongoing efforts to advance a Gaza ceasefire.
The meeting marks the latest engagement between El-Sisi and Trump and comes as Egypt continues to play a central role in regional mediation efforts involving Gaza and broader Middle East stability.
During the meeting, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi welcomed the recently reached US-Iran agreement, congratulating President Donald Trump on the deal and expressing hope that it would help end war and escalation in the Middle East while demonstrating the US president's ability to resolve conflicts around the world.
The Egyptian leader also expressed Egypt's readiness to work with regional and international partners to support the agreement and help achieve lasting solutions to outstanding regional issues.
Trump, in turn, praised Egypt's role and El-Sisi's personal efforts in supporting the negotiating track and helping reduce tensions in the region, the presidency said.
He expressed his desire to maintain close coordination between Cairo and Washington in support of regional peace and stability.
The two leaders also discussed the Palestinian issue, with El-Sisi stressing that resolving the conflict remains essential to achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to continued coordination with the United States to advance implementation of President Trump's peace plan for Gaza and help restore calm and stability in the region.
The meeting also focused on bilateral ties, with El-Sisi congratulating Trump ahead of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of US independence and reaffirming Egypt's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Washington across various fields.
Trump welcomed the remarks and expressed his country's desire to further deepen cooperation with Egypt, according to the presidency.
The two leaders agreed to intensify political consultations and coordination on regional and international issues to promote peace and prosperity.
The talks also addressed the Nile water dispute and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), one of Egypt's most sensitive national security concerns.
According to the presidency, El-Sisi stressed the paramount importance of the Nile River issue for Egypt and expressed appreciation for Trump's interest in the matter.
Trump said he understood Egypt's concerns and pledged to give the Nile water dispute the "highest priority" and seek a fair settlement.
Earlier in remarks before the meeting, Trump described the GERD as a source of "tremendous problems for Egypt" and said he hoped the dispute could be resolved.
