The convoy, operating under the initiative "Zad Al-Ezza... From Egypt to Gaza," headed toward the Gaza Strip as part of the ERC's role as the national mechanism for coordinating humanitarian assistance to the territory.
The shipment included food baskets, flour, medical supplies, relief materials, and fuel for hospitals and other vital facilities, as well as clothing and tents for displaced Palestinians.
Separately, the ERC said it received the 53rd group of Palestinian patients and wounded people through the Rafah crossing on Wednesday, along with their companions, while continuing to facilitate the return of Palestinians travelling from Egypt back to Gaza.
The organization said it provided a range of humanitarian services, including assistance with border-crossing procedures, hot meals, clothing, and personal care items to help meet the basic needs of patients and their companions during their stay.
The ERC added that its teams have maintained a round-the-clock presence at the Rafah crossing since the start of the Israeli genocidal war and blockade on the strip in October 2023.
The latest convoy comes days after Egypt announced that the volume of humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza through its territory had surpassed one million tonnes since the outbreak of the war in October 2023, marking one of the largest humanitarian operations in the region in recent decades.
According to the ERC, Egypt has organized more than 540 humanitarian convoys and facilitated the movement of tens of thousands of aid trucks carrying food, medicine, fuel, medical supplies, relief materials, shelter assistance, and other essential goods.
Beyond aid deliveries, Egypt has also received and treated hundreds of wounded Palestinians and medical cases evacuated from Gaza through the Rafah crossing, while continuing mediation efforts aimed at securing and sustaining ceasefire arrangements and expanding humanitarian access to the enclave.
