Abdelatty and Salem discussed efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and review the latest developments in Sudan.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf, the meeting reflected the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between Egypt and Sudan, with both ministers reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples.
During the meeting, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's firm support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions, stressing Cairo's rejection of any parallel entities that could undermine the Sudanese state.
He also underscored the importance of reaching a humanitarian truce that would help establish a sustainable ceasefire and create conditions for restarting the political process. Abdelatty stressed the need to ensure humanitarian access to affected areas while respecting the principle of Sudanese ownership of any political settlement.
The Egyptian foreign minister further highlighted the importance of international Quartet efforts aimed at supporting stability and ending the conflict in Sudan.
For his part, Salem expressed Sudan's appreciation for Egypt's support at various levels and praised Cairo's consistent backing of Sudan's unity and stability.
The Sudanese minister also reviewed his government's efforts to address the country's current challenges and affirmed Sudan's keenness to maintain close coordination and consultation with Egypt in the period ahead.
