Maspero is the headquarters of the state-owned National Media Authority (formerly the Egyptian Radio and Television Union) in downtown Cairo.

The Greek Music Night featured a blend of Greek orchestral compositions and the distinctive sounds of the oud in a unique performance by Egyptian musician Mario Saeed. The concert offered a fusion of Mediterranean musical traditions, reflecting the longstanding cultural links between the two countries.

Among those attending were Greek Ambassador to Egypt Nikolaos Papageorgiou and Head of the National Media Authority Ahmed Al Moslemani, and several ambassadors, diplomats, media professionals, and public figures.

The event underscored the role of cultural exchange in strengthening bilateral relations and highlighted music as a universal language that fosters dialogue, understanding, and friendship among people.

The concert also paid tribute to the late Egyptian music legend, icon, and singer Abdel Halim Hafez (1929–1977) on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of his birth. The honour was presented during a ceremony attended by National Media Authority Chairman Ahmed Al-Moslemany and the Greek ambassador. It was received by Mohamed Shabana, the son of the legendary singer's brother.
