The certification, awarded following an independent third-party assessment, covers the company's information security management framework rather than individual systems alone. It validates the governance, risk management, and operational controls that underpin Vodafone Egypt's telecommunications, cloud, and financial services operations, which serve more than 55 million customers.
The move comes as Egypt accelerates digital transformation and expands digital financial services, increasing demand for internationally recognized cybersecurity standards across critical digital infrastructure.
Vodafone Egypt said the certification embeds cybersecurity into decision-making, governance, and operational processes across the organization, extending beyond the certification of specific platforms or infrastructure.
The company operates Vodafone Cash, which serves more than 28 million mobile wallet users, alongside one of Egypt's largest telecommunications networks and its expanding 5G infrastructure.
Catalin Buliga, Technology Director at Vodafone Egypt, said the certification reflects the company's long-term strategy to strengthen the resilience of its digital infrastructure.
"As AI and data become increasingly central to the economy, security becomes a prerequisite for growth, while trust remains the foundation of digital services," Buliga said.
In addition to the new company-wide certification, Vodafone Egypt holds ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27017 certifications for its cloud infrastructure, PCI-DSS certification covering its cloud environments and Vodafone Cash platform, and SOC 2 Type II certification for its financial services operations.
The company said these certifications were awarded following independent audits against internationally recognized security standards.
Vodafone Egypt said it has invested more than EGP 125 billion in its network and digital infrastructure since launching operations in Egypt more than 28 years ago, with a further EGP 20 billion allocated for the current financial year.
The company said the investments are intended to support the continued expansion of secure telecommunications, cloud, and digital financial services as demand for data-driven technologies and artificial intelligence applications grows.
