Egypt designates Thursday, 2 July paid holiday for 30 June Revolution anniversary
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has designated Thursday, 2 July 2026, an official paid holiday to mark the anniversary of the 30 June Revolution, instead of Tuesday, 30 June, according to a cabinet statement.
The holiday will apply to ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public-sector companies, and public business-sector companies.
The cabinet said exams will proceed as scheduled according to the timetables set by the relevant authorities.
Egypt has, in recent years, shifted most midweek official holidays to Thursdays to give citizens longer weekends, a policy introduced in 2020 and applied to most national holidays except major religious holidays and Christmas.
