Suspense, suspicion, and drama unfold in this thrilling Egyptian take on a timeless story (25, 26 and 27 June, 7pm).

What do Survivors Dream Of? performance is directed by
Samah Hamdy, an interdisciplinary artist whose work exists on the boundary between art and life through interactive experiences.
The performance explores the concept of survival through a philosophical and psychological lens, reflecting the inner struggle and the crisis of identity experienced by survivors. It is a visual performance piece that blends cinematic imagery with live embodied scenes unfolding in direct relation to the moment and the space. Through immersive scenography, music, and physical performance, the work creates a shifting sensory experience that ultimately leads into an interactive ending shaped through the audience’s presence and participation. Audience guidelines: The performance is intended for audiences aged 18+. You are part of the work itself; wearing black clothing is preferred.
Optionally, attendees are encouraged to leave their phones and shoes at the security desk before entering. Photography is not permitted.

Shariaa El Sheikh Ayesh (El Sheikh Ayesh Stree) play is set in a vibrant working-class neighborhood in Cairo, beginning in 1919 and spanning more than a century of Egyptian history. The play follows the lives of the street’s residents, their children and their grandchildren, exploring the bonds, dreams, laughter, love stories and challenges that connect generations. Blending comedy, drama and nostalgia, the play captures the social and cultural transformations of Egyptian society over the decades. It is a heartfelt journey through time that celebrates the enduring spirit of the Egyptian people—their resilience, warmth and ability to find joy in every era.
