“I extend my heartfelt greetings to the men and women of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Across successive generations, they have worked with unwavering dedication and competence to fulfill their noble mission: representing the Egyptian State in countries across the globe, and within international organizations,” El-Sisi wrote on his official Facebook page.

The president made these remarks as Egypt commemorates the 200th anniversary of the establishment by Mohamed Ali, the founder of modern Egypt, of the first body responsible for overseeing trade and foreign relations in the country in 1826.

The president added: “On this historic occasion, we recall with deep reverence the leading figures of Egyptian diplomacy who left a lasting legacy during challenging times.”

President El-Sisi wished success for all members of the foreign ministry in every endeavour, as they continue to uphold the truth, promote peace, and adhere to the authentic values that guide Egypt’s international relations.

On 15 March, President El-Sisi marked Egyptian Diplomacy Day, congratulating the foreign ministry’s staff for their role in representing the country’s interests abroad.

Egyptian Diplomacy Day, marked annually on 15 March, commemorates the re-establishment of the foreign ministry in 1922 following the country’s independence from Britain.
