Egypt reaffirms solidarity with Venezuela after earthquakes: FM Abdelatty to Venezuelan counterpart

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Monday with his Venezuelan counterpart Yván Gil Pinto to discuss the aftermath of the twin earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela.

FM Abdelatty conveyed Egypt's sincere condolences, on behalf of the government and people, to Venezuela over the victims of the earthquakes, expressing sympathy to the families of those killed and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

He reaffirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Venezuela amid what he described as a difficult humanitarian situation and expressed Cairo's readiness to provide all forms of support and assistance to mitigate the disaster's impact.

For his part, Gil thanked Egypt for its solidarity, praising the statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry following the earthquakes and describing it as a reflection of Egypt's support during the crisis.

The Venezuelan foreign minister also briefed Abdelatty on the human and material losses caused by the earthquakes and outlined the efforts undertaken by Venezuelan authorities to contain the disaster's impact and provide relief to affected areas.
