The anniversary coincides with the construction of the Missile Wall on 30 June 1970, a milestone El-Toudy described as “a military miracle” achieved by the men of the Air Defence Forces, when enemy aircraft fell before the missile network and Egypt established control over its airspace.
Speaking at a press conference marking the occasion, Al-Toudi said the Missile Wall built by previous generations of Air Defence heroes remains “strong and renewed,” with current generations continuing to develop it using the latest global air-defence systems.
He said Air Defence personnel renew their pledge to remain loyal soldiers of the nation and to continue modernizing their capabilities and combat efficiency to safeguard Egypt’s airspace.
Al-Toudi also thanked the political leadership and the General Command of the Armed Forces for their continued support in upgrading the combat capabilities of the Air Defence Forces, enabling them to carry out their missions under different circumstances.
