Thurs 2, 6pm: A “Striving Towards God: A Starting Point for Healing” seminar tackles a concept that was founded by late Egyptian psychiatrist, thinker, and philosopher Yehia Elrakhawy. The seminar will introduce speakers: Dr. Mohamed Elmahdy, Professor of Psychiatry and Consultant in Marital Therapy; Dr. Magda Emara, Clinical Specialist in Marital Therapy and Professor of Philosophy and Psychology; and Dr. Mohamed Elrakhawy, PhD in Psychology and Director of Elrakhawy Hospital. They will discuss the intellectual and scientific legacy of Dr. Yehia Elrakhawy and his contributions to the fields of psychiatry and mental health. It will explore his vision of human healing and its connection to the concept of "struggling towards God," which he views as a continuous journey towards psychological and spiritual maturity. It also highlights the dimensions of this vision in understanding the self and becoming aware of human suffering, and its role in achieving psychological balance and personal development.
Elrakhawy is considered one of the most prominent thinkers who broadened the horizons of psychiatry in relation to literature, philosophy, and heritage. He did not treat mental illness merely as a mental disorder, but rather viewed it as a human and cultural discourse requiring an understanding of its social and civilizational context. He enriched the Arabic library with numerous books and studies addressing issues of consciousness, madness, and creativity, defending the essence of humanity against reductionist and simplistic tendencies (open to the public and free of charge).

Italian Language Course: Registration from 20 June to 4 July 2026. (Note: Registrations via email are not accepted). Placement test: 12 or 13 July 2026 (not required for absolute beginners and currently enrolled students). Course period: From 25 July to 10 September 2026.
Total duration: 40 hours. Frequency: 3 days a week (days established by the Institute): Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday or Monday-Wednesday- Saturday. Available time slots: 17:00 – 19:00 or 19:00 – 21:00. Course delivery mode is in-person in Zamalek and Downtown branches.
Online: Via the Zoom platform. Teachers: Native and bilingual professionals. Classes will be held in Italian; the teacher may use an auxiliary language only if necessary.
