During the talks, Abdelatty praised the steady progress in Egypt-EU relations, particularly following last year's Egypt-EU Summit, which he said gave strong momentum to implementing the six pillars of the Comprehensive Strategic and Partnership Agreement between Egypt and the European Union.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the foreign minister stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of both the summit and the 11th Egypt-EU Association Council meeting, held in Luxembourg in mid-June.
He underscored the need to deepen economic, investment, and trade cooperation across various sectors, describing economic collaboration as a cornerstone of the strategic partnership.
Abdelatty also expressed appreciation for the EU's support for Egypt's economic reforms and financial stability, as well as ongoing cooperation in education, scientific research, and skills development through programmes including Horizon Europe and Erasmus+.
On migration, Abdelatty called for adopting a long-term strategic vision that goes beyond short-term crisis management to strengthen cooperation on migration and mobility.
The minister also welcomed the launch of the Mediterranean Pact as an important step towards deepening Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, reaffirming Egypt's commitment to working with European partners on the basis of mutual respect, shared responsibility, and partnership. He outlined Egypt's vision for the initiative and presented a number of proposed projects and initiatives under the framework.
The consultations also addressed regional developments, including the latest progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran. Abdelatty briefed Šuica on Egypt's assessment of the rapidly evolving regional situation and Cairo's diplomatic efforts to resolve regional conflicts.
He stressed the importance of building on the momentum generated by the recently signed memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran to pave the way for more sustainable arrangements that would promote de-escalation, strengthen regional security and stability, and safeguard freedom of navigation in accordance with international law.
Abdelatty also emphasised the need to refocus international efforts on the Palestinian cause by creating the conditions necessary to complete the full implementation of the first phase of the US president's peace plan and move to its second phase. He further outlined Egypt's positions on the latest developments in Lebanon, Libya, and Sudan.
For her part, European Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica reaffirmed the European Union's commitment to further strengthening its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Egypt, describing the country as a key EU partner in the southern Mediterranean.
She praised Egypt's pivotal role in promoting regional security and stability, addressing shared challenges, and enhancing cooperation across the Mediterranean region.
