Egypt's East Nile Monorail extends operating hours for Egypt-Argentina World Cup clash

Egypt's National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) announced on Tuesday an extension of operating hours and a free special service on the East Nile Monorail to facilitate the transport of fans heading to the Egypt Fan Zone (EFZ) in the New Administrative Capital to watch Egypt's FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 match against Argentina.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 7 pm Cairo time on Tuesday, 7 July.

The authority said the East Nile Monorail will continue its regular daily service from 6 am to 9 pm along its full route for all passengers.

In addition, a special free service will operate exclusively for holders of the EFZ QR Code from 2 p.m. until 2 am, running between Investors Station and R2 Station to facilitate access to the fan zone.

NAT urged passengers to comply with station and onboard regulations and follow the instructions of operating staff to ensure smooth movement and the safety of all fans.

The authority also wished Egypt's national team success as it continues its historic World Cup campaign, expressing hope that the Pharaohs will achieve another milestone to delight millions of Egyptians.
