In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Egypt's firm rejection of terrorism, extremism and violence in all their forms, regardless of their motives or justifications.
Egypt also expressed its full solidarity with Morocco in confronting any threats to its security and stability, stressing its support for all measures taken by the Moroccan authorities to safeguard the country and protect its citizens.
The statement reiterated Egypt's consistent position rejecting all forms of terrorism and underscored its backing for Morocco's efforts to preserve national security and public safety.
Morocco said on Monday it had arrested 10 members of a cell linked to the Islamic State's Sahel Province (ISSP) affiliate, thwarting a planned terrorist attack.
The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), Morocco's lead counterterrorism agency, said simultaneous raids across several cities resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of bladed weapons, military-style clothing, bomb-making instructions, digital storage devices and chemical substances.
Authorities also confiscated a vehicle suspected of having been modified for use in a bombing or vehicle-ramming attack.
