The Cairo Economic Court ruled in favour of Kurasov, who accused Waly of claiming his artworks as her own and using them in designs for Cairo Metro stations without his permission.
The ruling follows a final criminal verdict after Egypt's Court of Cassation rejected Waly's appeal against her conviction, upholding a fine of EGP 10,000 for violating the artist's intellectual property rights.
A lower economic court had previously sentenced Waly to six months in prison and imposed the EGP 10,000 fine. However, the prison sentence was overturned on appeal, with the appellate court upholding only the financial penalty.
Prosecutors referred Waly to trial on charges of infringing Kurasov's moral and economic rights by reproducing and using several of his paintings in metro station designs without obtaining his consent, according to the investigation.
The latest ruling concerns the civil lawsuit filed by Kurasov seeking compensation for the alleged infringement.
