The firm is a leading China-based company, with over 37 years of experience in planning and design of automotive manufacturing facilities.

It provides design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and after-sales services for paint shops, assembly shops, and body shops in the automotive, construction machinery, and rail transit industries.

The complex will utilize smart manufacturing technologies to equip production lines and provide smart industrial software systems. It will also provide consulting services for factory planning and design.

The facility aims to localize the automotive manufacturing industry. It also aims to improve supply chains, increase reliance on local components, create jobs, and support exports.

Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid met with the company's representatives to discuss the project.

The automotive industry is a top priority in Egypt’s national manufacturing strategy.

The country wants to transition from assembling cars to actual manufacturing. It aims to transfer technology, train personnel, and increase the local industry's added value, according to Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem.

Furthermore, the industry ministry aims to attract international car manufacturers and companies specializing in advanced manufacturing technologies to the Egyptian market.

The ministry's plans align with Egypt's efforts to become a regional hub for automotive manufacturing and develop an integrated industrial system.

They also align with Egypt’s Automotive Industry Development Programme (AIDP), which aims to build a modern and sustainable automotive industry by raising local value-added content to 60 percent, increasing the share of domestic industrial components above 35 percent, and reaching an annual production volume of 100,000 vehicles.

Jiangsu Changhong Chairwoman Qiu Yunjie said the company intends to expand its activities in the Egyptian industrial sector to establish a long-term partnership based on the exchange of knowledge and technical expertise and training local engineering talent.

Moreover, the Ministry of Investment and Trade is studying supporting the project by allocating land and providing the necessary infrastructure.

It also studies cooperation with the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) to expedite the project's implementation.

Egypt is establishing four investment funds in cooperation with the TSFE to support the industrial sector.

The first fund for the industrial sector will be launched by the beginning of the current fiscal year 2026/2027 to provide liquidity and investments to more productive sectors.
