During the meetings, the officials reviewed the offering process to ensure it aligns with the highest standards of transparency and competitiveness.
They also emphasized that the offering aims to enhance the airport's operational efficiency and improve the quality of its services in accordance with the latest international practices in airport management and operation.
Elhefny said the ministry is moving forward with implementing an integrated vision to develop Egypt’s airport system by adopting modern operating models, benefiting from international expertise, and transferring that expertise to national cadres.
He added that the offering programme reflects the state’s plans to enhance the private sector's participation as a key partner in achieving development.
Elhefny also stressed that the state remains fully committed to maintaining ownership of its airports and exercising sovereignty over all airport assets.
He noted that the programme is progressing according to the established timetable and that preparations are underway for the next phases of the programme's implementation.
Hurghada International Airport is the first to be offered to private operators. The offering is part of a broader strategy to modernize 11 national airports, including Sphinx, Sharm El Sheikh, Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, Sohag, Assiut, Abu Simbel, El Alamein, and Marsa Matrouh.
