The call with Arab top diplomats, which included Jordanian FM Ayman Safadi, Kuwaiti FM Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Bahraini FM Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, and Qatari FM Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, took place as part of ongoing joint Egypt-Arab coordination and consultations amidst regional escalation.

The ministers discussed the latest regional developments regarding the Iranian attacks targeting Arab countries, reviewed measures taken to address their repercussions, and checked on the safety of citizens.

During the calls, Abdelatty stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Arab countries and all Gulf states.

He reaffirmed Egypt's solidarity with the Arab states as well as its categorical rejection of any attack that undermines their security, sovereignty, or threatens the safety and stability of their peoples.

The Egyptian FM also underscored Cairo's full support for all measures these countries take to safeguard their security and territorial integrity.

He further emphasized the close fraternal ties among Arab nations and the unity of their shared destiny, stressing that the security of Arab states is integral to Egypt's national security.

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty and his Qatari counterpart addressed the regional escalation, stressing the importance of containing tensions and preventing the conflict from expanding.

They urged all parties to prioritize diplomacy and dialogue and return to the negotiating table to implement the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, which they considered a step toward reaching a final agreement that would help de-escalate tensions and strengthen regional security and stability.

Abdelatty’s intensive communications come amidst a sharp escalation in the Gulf and around the Strait of Hormuz, which has become a central flashpoint in the renewed confrontation between Washington and Tehran.

On Tuesday, the US launched strikes on Iran after accusing Tehran of attacking ships in the vital waterway, triggering Iranian reprisals targeting American bases in the Gulf.

The latest escalation threatens the fragile de-escalation process between the US and Iran, despite the signed memorandum of understanding that was considered a constructive step towards ending the war in the Middle East.
