Bringing together established singers, instrumentalists, folk ensembles, and crossover performers, the festival continues its tradition of presenting affordable open-air concerts spanning Arabic music, jazz, folklore, fusion, and contemporary Egyptian repertoire.
This year, Yasser Shaalan, head of Opera's artistic house is the festival's director, while Reda El-Wakil, chairman of the Cairo Opera, is the festival's president.
The programme opens on 22 July with Fouad & Mounib before marking the anniversary of the 23 July Revolution with a special performance by the Youth Development Centre.
The Alexandria leg of the festival begins the same day with veteran singer Ali El Haggar, while subsequent weeks feature performances by Wagih Aziz, Saad El Oud, Sherif Mounir, percussionist Nesma Abdel Aziz, and acclaimed vocalist Medhat Saleh, among other names.
The programme continues into August with appearances by Nesma Mahgoub, Wael El Fashny, Amr Selim, Niveen Alouba, and Syrian composer and singer Tarek El Arabi Tourgane...
The schedule also includes performances by the Sweet Sound Band under the baton of Mounir Nasr El Din, the Beatles-inspired band Glass Onion, and a concert by Nouran Abou Taleb with Ahmed El Haggar, reflecting the festival's blend of established stars, emerging talent and diverse musical traditions.
