Data from the Central Administration for Agricultural Quarantine, part of the Agricultural Services Sector, shows citrus fruits remained Egypt's top agricultural export, with shipments topping 2.2 million tons.
Fresh potatoes ranked second, with exports exceeding 908,000 tons, while sweet potato exports reached roughly 218,000 tons.
Grape exports climbed past 147,000 tons, according to the report, while fresh and dried bean shipments totalled around 125,000 tons.
Fresh onion exports exceeded 123,000 tons, and fresh strawberries topped 39,000 tons. Garlic exports came in at roughly 34,000 tons, with fresh tomatoes at about 20,000 tons. Guava and pomegranates also featured prominently among the season's major exports.
Farouk said his ministry is pressing ahead with efforts to break into new international markets across multiple continents, including destinations with strict quarantine requirements, as part of a broader push to widen Egypt's export footprint.
The minister said the sustained growth reflects growing international trust in Egypt's monitoring and traceability systems, and confirms that Egyptian produce meets top global safety and quality standards.
Egypt's agricultural exports reached 9.5 million tons for 2025, up around 10.5 percent (roughly 800,000 tons) from 8.6 million tons in 2024.
