Egypt, UAE FMs discuss US-Iran memorandum, stress Gulf security
Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed on Saturday regional developments, particularly the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the US and Iran, stressing the importance of building on the agreement to reduce tensions while safeguarding the security interests of the Gulf states.

During a phone call, Abdelatty said the agreement should help advance regional security and stability, while underscoring that the Gulf states' security and stability are integral to Arab national security.
The two ministers also exchanged views on several regional issues of mutual concern, including maritime security and the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and consultation to support peace and stability across the region.
On bilateral ties, Abdelatty and Sheikh Abdullah praised the continued momentum in Egyptian-Emirati relations across various fields, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two countries under the leadership of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
They reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples, while maintaining close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
