The Military Intelligence Authority’s International Organizations Liaison Department organized the course in cooperation with the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), with support from the European Union.
International experts and trainers from specialized centres worldwide and the UN Secretariat also contributed to the programme.
The course covered the protection of civilians in conflict zones and international migration law through specialized lectures, panel discussions, practical exercises, and a field simulation conducted in cooperation with the Egyptian Paratroopers Command.
According to the Armed Forces, the programme sought to strengthen participants’ analytical, planning, and decision-making capabilities and improve the preparedness of personnel nominated to serve in UN peace operations.
The course was held under the directives of Egypt’s political leadership and as part of the Armed Forces General Command’s efforts to support international peace and security and to expand training and capacity-building in UN peacekeeping operations.
It also forms part of continuing efforts by the Armed Forces and the International Organizations Liaison Department to strengthen cooperation with international organizations, institutions, and specialized training centres.
The Armed Forces said these efforts aim to consolidate Egypt’s position as a regional and international centre of excellence in training and capacity-building.
Participants and international experts praised the organization, preparation, and the course's academic and practical content, as well as Egypt’s role in supporting UN peace efforts and in developing international peacekeeping capabilities.
