Hot and humid weather is expected across Egypt from Monday through Friday, with temperatures in southern Upper Egypt forecast to reach 43°C by the end of the week.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said hot weather will prevail during the day across most parts of the country, while the northern coast will experience hot, humid conditions. Nights and early mornings are expected to remain warm and humid nationwide.
The authority warned that high humidity will make temperatures feel 2°C to 4°C higher than the actual air temperature in the shade.
Daytime highs in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta are forecast to range between 35°C and 36°C, with feels-like temperatures reaching 37°C to 38°C.
Along the northern coast, temperatures are expected to range between 30°C and 31°C, with feels-like temperatures of 33°C to 34°C.
Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 37°C to 38°C, with feels-like temperatures reaching 39°C to 40°C, while southern Upper Egypt—the country's hottest region—is forecast to record highs of 41°C to 42°C, rising to a feels-like 43°C by Friday.
The EMA also warned of morning fog between 4:00 am and 8:00 am on roads linking northern Egypt with Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, urging motorists to exercise caution.
Intermittent winds are also expected across most parts of the country throughout the five days, the authority added.
