Youth and Sports Minister Gohar Nabil held a video conference with businessmen Mohamed Mansour and Lotfy Mohamed Mansour, attended by Mohamed Wasfy, director of Right to Dream Academy, to discuss ways of cooperation.
The meeting focused on implementing joint talent development and scouting programmes across Egypt's governorates, linking promising athletes to professional development pathways as part of the government's strategy to strengthen the national talent pipeline.
"This initiative comes in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to invest in young people and identify and nurture talented individuals," Nabil said.
"The ministry is implementing a national project, in partnership with national institutions, to discover sporting talent across Egypt.
"The goal is to establish a specialized academy in cooperation with Right to Dream that will be operated according to international standards, with the aim of developing generations of athletes capable of competing at the local and international levels."
Nabil said the ministry's network of sports cities, facilities and sports schools across the country could serve as centres for discovering and developing talented athletes while providing equal opportunities for young people nationwide.
Founded in 1999 by former Manchester United scout Tom Vernon, ''Right to Dream'' began as a residential football academy in Ghana, combining elite football coaching with education and character development.
The academy expanded into Egypt in 2021 following Mansour Group's investment in the global football development organisation.
''Right to Dream'' global network includes academies in Ghana, Egypt, Denmark and the United States and is linked to three professional clubs - Denmark's FC Nordsjælland, Egypt's FC Masar and Major League Soccer side San Diego FC - providing graduates with a pathway into professional football.
