Church of England’s Synod votes to stand in solidarity with Palestinian Christians

The Church of England’s General Synod voted with a large majority in favor of standing in solidarity with Palestinian Christians during its annual gathering at York, WAFA said.

A total of 253 Synod members voted in favour of the motion, while 47 voted against it, following a debate on Kairos Palestine documents I and II.

The motion was carried in the House of Bishops, the House of Clergy, and the House of Laity. In the House of Bishops, 25 bishops voted in favour of the motion, 0 voted against it, and five abstained. In the House of Clergy, 115 members voted in favour of the motion, 20 voted against it, and 30 abstained. In the House of Laity, 113 voted in favour of it, 27 voted against it, and 35 abstained.

The Synod discussed the report, “A Moment of Truth: Faith in a Time of Genocide” which was issued on 14th November 2025.
