The convoy comprised several trucks loaded with food parcels, flour, medical and relief supplies, medicines, and fuel needed to operate hospitals and other essential facilities in the strip.
The ERC has served as Egypt’s national mechanism for coordinating humanitarian assistance to Gaza since the outbreak of the crisis.
It has maintained a permanent presence at the border and kept its logistics centres on continuous standby, stressing that the Rafah border crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side.
According to the ERC, the volume of humanitarian and relief aid delivered to Gaza since the war began has exceeded one million tons, supported by more than 65,000 volunteers.
On Monday, the ERC’s 233rd shipment carried more than 70,000 food parcels, medical and relief supplies, medicines, and fuel to Gaza.
A day earlier, the organization sent more than 2,635 tons of aid through its 232nd convoy to the strip, including 775 tons of food and over 1,490 tons of fuel.
In recent weeks, the ERC has intensified its deliveries to Gaza, with its 231st convoy carrying more than 2,320 tons of assistance and the 230th including over 92,000 food parcels.
The shipments have continued to prioritize fuel needed to operate Gaza's hospitals and other essential facilities, alongside food, flour, medicines, and relief supplies.
Beyond emergency relief, international attention is increasingly turning to Gaza’s early recovery and reconstruction. European donors announced on Monday that they were offering around $1 billion for initial projects, including debris removal and the restoration of water and sanitation services.
However, the United Nations estimates that reconstruction will require tens of billions of dollars and take years.
