According to the Egyptian presidency, President El-Sisi prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow His mercy on the deceased and grant the people of Qatar patience and solace.
The president also affirmed that Egypt, both its leadership and people, stand in solidarity with Qatar's leadership and people during this difficult time.
El-Sisi paid tribute to the late Sheikh Hamad's contributions to Qatar's development, progress, and prosperity.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to protect Qatar from all harm and to continue to bless it with security, stability, and prosperity under the wise leadership of Sheikh Tamim.
For his part, Sheikh Tamim expressed his appreciation for President El-Sisi's visit and condolences, underscoring the close fraternal ties between Egypt and Qatar and praising the longstanding historical bonds between the two peoples.
The Qatari emir also expressed his hope that Cairo and Doha would continue working together to strengthen and expand their bilateral relations.
President El-Sisi arrived in Doha earlier on Tuesday to offer condolences following the death of Sheikh Hamad.
The president was received at Hamad International Airport by Qatari Minister of Defence Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Egyptian Ambassador to Qatar Walid El-Feky, and members of the Egyptian embassy in Doha.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday, President El-Sisi also conveyed his condolences over the death of Qatar's former emir.
“I extend my deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the brotherly State of Qatar—its Amir, government, and people—on the passing of His Highness the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may Allah the Almighty have mercy upon him,” El-Sisi wrote.
“We pray that Allah the Almighty envelop him in His boundless mercy and grant Qatar and its people continued security and stability. Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return,” the president added.
Sheikh Hamad died on Sunday at the age of 74, according to Qatar’s state news agency, which did not disclose the cause of death.
He ruled Qatar for 18 years after taking power in 1995 before voluntarily transferring authority in June 2013 to his son, the current Emir Sheikh Tamim.
During his rule, Sheikh Hamad oversaw Qatar's transformation into an influential regional and international player, using the country's energy wealth to expand its diplomatic, investment, aviation, media, and sporting influence.
