Crew rescued after tourist launch sinks off Egypt north Red Sea coast

A crew of five has been rescued unharmed after a tourist launch sank off Gebel El-Zeit, a coastal mountain in Egypt's Red Sea governorate, on Tuesday.

The vessel, named Sea Serpent, was carrying no passengers at the time.

Search and rescue teams worked with petroleum companies operating in the area to reach the crew after an emergency call was raised.

The Egyptian authorities are investigating the technical causes of the sinking.
