Medical sources at Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli Arab (Al-Ma'mdani) hospitals said the hospitals received the bodies of Salem Tawfiq Abu Zour, Ahmed Nimer Abu Zour, and Salem Tawfiq Al-Mubaid after the attack. Witnesses said the shelling targeted a group of civilians.
In a separate attack, an Israeli drone fired directly at the Al-Zahraa School camp, which shelters displaced people in the Shuja'iyya neighbourhood east of Gaza City, wounding one Palestinian.
Israeli forces also advanced dozens of metres east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza before dawn on Saturday under artillery cover, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.
The sources said Israeli military engineering units moved into the Abu al-Ajin area along Kissufim Road, Wadi al-Salqa, and the eastern outskirts of Al-Qastal Towers, east of Deir al-Balah, before removing concrete barriers marking the so-called "yellow line" and shifting them about 100 metres westward. The forces later withdrew.
Palestinians said dozens of families awoke to find the "yellow line" had been extended beyond their homes, effectively bringing the properties inside the area controlled by the Israeli occupation army.
The "yellow line" is a security zone imposed by Israel inside Gaza that Palestinians are barred from entering and which covers about 70 percent of the territory, according to Palestinian sources, in direct violation of the October ceasefire, brokered by Cairo, Doha, Ankara, and Washington.
The latest attacks came a day after Israeli forces killed 12 Palestinians and wounded others in a series of strikes across Gaza, according to Palestinian medical sources.
Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip by shooting at civilians, shelling and targeting border areas, flying drones, launching illumination bombs, carrying out incursions, and restricting residents' movement and access to farmland and homes near the separation fence.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement had killed 1,127 Palestinians and wounded 3,643 others as of Thursday.
In response, Gaza activists launched a social media campaign on Friday, under the hashtag "They Lied to You" in Arabic and English, saying it aimed to challenge claims that the truce had brought an end to the violence and to draw renewed attention to humanitarian conditions in the enclave.
The independent monitoring group Armed Conflict Location and Event Data (ACLED) said Israel carried out 40 attacks in June, the highest monthly total since the ceasefire began.
Since the outbreak of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, the occupation forces have killed more than 73,264 Palestinians, most of them women and children.
