Egyptian Navy Commander Vice Admiral Mahmoud Adel Fawzi met on Saturday with Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and his accompanying delegation during the Pakistani official visit to the Egyptian Navy Command in Alexandria.
The meeting comes as part of Egypt’s efforts to strengthen military cooperation with friendly and allied countries, according to a statement by the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The two sides held talks on issues of mutual interest, focusing on military cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the Egyptian and Pakistani navies.
Fawzi highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts to enhance the naval capabilities of both countries and advance their shared interests.
For his part, Admiral Ashraf praised the deep-rooted partnership and cooperation between the Egyptian and Pakistani naval forces.
During the visit, the two naval commanders also toured Alexandria Shipyard to review its capabilities and extensive experience in manufacturing naval vessels.
They also inspected several recently commissioned naval units to learn about their combat capabilities and the latest weapons systems acquired by the Egyptian Navy in recent years.
The Pakistani delegation further visited the Egyptian Naval Academy, where they reviewed the training and qualification programmes for cadets based on modern educational systems.
