Ahly said all the administrative and financial details of the deal had been finalised but did not disclose the transfer fee. Egyptian and Moroccan media reported the fee to be about $2.7 million.
The 24-year-old began his professional career with Raja Casablanca, where he scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 65 appearances before joining Belgian second-tier side SL16 FC in 2023.
He was promoted to Standard Liege's first team in 2024, scoring three goals in 18 appearances.
Benjdida joined MAS Fes in August 2025 and enjoyed a prolific debut season, scoring 20 goals in 31 appearances to finish as the Moroccan league's top scorer and lead the club to its first league title in 41 years and the fifth in its history.
Benjdida is Ahly's third signing of the summer after the club recruited winger Aqtay Abdallah and midfielder Ali Mahmoud from Enppi.
The Reds have been searching for a top-class striker to lead their attack since the departure of Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali last summer. Signings such as Portuguese-Angolan striker Leltsin Camoes and Marwan Osman fell short of expectations, prompting former coach Jess Thorup to deploy Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki in a central role.
Ahly are reshaping their squad after a disappointing season in which they finished third in last season's Egyptian Premier League and ended the campaign with only the Egyptian Super Cup, falling short of winning any other major domestic or continental trophies.
Last month, Ahly appointed Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta as their new manager to reclaim titles.
