In two statements, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the threats against Saudi Arabia as an "irresponsible escalation" that could undermine regional security and stability, endanger international shipping and vital maritime routes.
It also noted that the move violates international law, the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Cairo reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, expressing support for all measures taken by the kingdom to safeguard its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Separately, Egypt also strongly condemned the attack on the Kuwaiti tanker Kifan while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, saying the assault injured several crew members and posed a serious threat to freedom of navigation and the safety of international maritime corridors.
The foreign ministry reiterated Egypt's solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures aimed at protecting the country's security and sovereignty, while stressing its categorical rejection of any attacks targeting Arab states or threatening global trade routes.
Cairo called for an immediate halt to escalation and urged all parties to prioritize political and diplomatic solutions in accordance with international law and the UN Charter to preserve regional and international peace and stability.
The statements come amid heightened tensions in the Gulf after the Iran-backed Houthi movement threatened to blockade Saudi ports, raising concerns over the security of commercial shipping and global energy supplies.
Earlier on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump warned that Washington would respond if the Houthis carried out the threat.
"If something like that happens, we take care of it," Trump told reporters during a White House meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
"You know, we've done that with the Houthis before, and we haven't heard from them in a while since we did what we did originally," Trump added.
Egypt has repeatedly warned against actions that threaten freedom of navigation through strategic waterways, including the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that disruptions to maritime traffic pose risks to international trade and regional stability.
Over the past two days, Cairo has issued a series of statements condemning attacks targeting Gulf states and commercial shipping while urging restraint and diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
