The shipment arrived as the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) received the 65th group of Palestinian patients through the Rafah border crossing.
The shipment was handed over on Tuesday at the National Serum and Vaccine Complex in Helwan during a ceremony attended by Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar.
French Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad Eléonore Caroit, French Ambassador to Egypt Éric Chevallier, and senior officials from both countries also attended the event.
Minister Abdel-Ghaffar said the French donation reflected the strategic partnership between Egypt and France and their shared commitment to supporting Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza.
He said the shipment would strengthen the capacity of Egyptian hospitals providing medical care to Palestinian patients transferred from the strip.
He also highlighted France's humanitarian response since the outbreak of the Gaza war, noting that the French hospital ship deployed off the coast of El-Arish had provided more than 1,000 medical consultations and performed over 120 surgeries.
Additionally, some critically injured Palestinian patients had also been transferred to hospitals in France for treatment.
Abdel-Ghaffar said Egyptian-French cooperation extends beyond emergency relief to long-term healthcare partnerships, including support for primary healthcare, universal health insurance, maternal and child health programs, and cooperation with the French Development Agency (AFD).
He also highlighted a partnership with France's Gustave Roussy Institute to treat Palestinian children with cancer.
For her part, Caroit praised Egypt's role in receiving and treating around 100 wounded Palestinians daily, saying the new aid shipment aims to support Egyptian hospitals and help alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
She also commended the efforts of the Egyptian government and the Ministry of Health, reaffirming France's commitment to mobilizing international support and advancing peace through a two-state solution.
Following the handover ceremony, Abdel-Ghaffar inspected the shipment and directed that it be distributed immediately to beneficiary hospitals to ensure uninterrupted medical care for Palestinian patients.
Separately, the Egyptian Red Crescent said it had received the latest group of wounded and sick Palestinians through the Rafah crossing, while helping patients who had completed treatment return home.
Working in coordination with the ministries of health and social solidarity, ERC teams accompany Palestinian patients throughout the crossing process from humanitarian service centres at Rafah's arrival and departure terminals.
The organization provides a range of humanitarian services, including psychological support—particularly for children—family reunification assistance, meals, drinks, clothing and personal hygiene supplies for patients and their companions.
The ERC, the country's official national coordination body for humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza, has maintained a round-the-clock presence at the Rafah crossing since the start of the Gaza war. It has supported Egypt's humanitarian response by assisting Palestinian civilians arriving for medical treatment and relief.
