According to the report, Mohamed trained alone and is expected to join the reserve team later, with the club yet to decide his future.
The 28-year-old boycotted Nantes' pre-season preparations, which began on June 24.
Coach Michel Der Zakarian said last week the club had been unable to contact Mohamed for about three weeks, stressing the striker would face financial and disciplinary sanctions.
Mohamed endured a difficult campaign last season as Nantes were relegated from Ligue 1 after finishing second from bottom.
He scored four goals in 24 league appearances, a return that saw him omitted from Egypt coach Hossam Hassan's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The former Zamalek forward joined Nantes from Turkish club Galatasaray in the summer of 2023. His contract runs until June 2027.
Mohamed has scored 29 goals and registered eight assists in 136 appearances for Nantes in all competitions.
