Pinocchio: Unstrung – film
Pinocchio: Unstrung is screened across Egypt's cinemas starting Thursday 23 July.
The film tells a dark reimagining of the classic child’s tale. It follows the character of James whose grandfather, Gepetto, introduces him to a wooden doll named Pinocchio. The two become friends until Pinocchio is influenced by the sinister Cricket to become a real boy, at a great cost.
Pinocchio: Unstrung is directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield and stars Richard Brake, Robert Englund and Adrian Burton.

The timeline begins in 1919 and spans more than a century of Egyptian history.
It follows the lives of the street’s residents, their children, and their grandchildren, exploring the bonds, dreams, laughter, love stories, and challenges that connect generations.
Directed by Walid Talaat, Share3 El Sheikh Ayesh captures the social and cultural transformations of Egyptian society over time, all the while celebrating the resilience of the Egyptian people.

Egyptian rappers Marwan Pablo and Lege-cy will perform in a joint concert.
31-year-old Pablo has become one of the best-known Egyptian rappers in recent years.
He began rapping in the mid-2010s when he was known as Dama. In 2017, he adopted the name Marwan Pablo upon releasing his first single Al Gholaf X Ozoris (The Cover X Ozoris).
Since then, he’s been among the many Egyptian artists who dominated the most-listened-to lists in the Arab region on Spotify.
Pablo released his debut studio album The Last Piece of Art in 2023. He previously released 5 EPs: CTRL (2021), The Last Piece of Art (2023), 7OB&KASHAT (2024), and PRJKTBLUBEAM (2024).
Egyptian rapper and music producer Lege-Cy stands as one of the established artists in the rap scene.
The 30-year-old rapper has released two albums, Placebo and BGD. Hits include 3alam Kadaba, Msh Awl Marra and LAW NASYANY which have amassed tens of millions of streams on Spotify.
In 2026, he Lege-Cy performed at the AUC Tahrir CultureFest in Cairo. He also launched an international tour, performing in major cities across Europe and North America.
Ali El-Haggar – music

El-Haggar remains one of the Arab world’s most listened-to artists, with a discography drawing from the poetry of Salah Jahin, Abdel-Rahman El-Abnoudy and Sayed Hegab.
He has also collaborated with the country's most renowned composers such as Baligh Hamdy, Sayed Mekkawy, Omar Khairat, among others.
Some of his most popular hits are Arfa (Do You Know), Hona Al-Qahera (Here is Cairo), and Dehket Al-Masageen (The Prisoners’ Laughter).
His upcoming performance is part of the ongoing Summer Festival for Music & Singing.

The group consisting of two dozen performers relies mainly on voices, percussive instruments, tabla, doholla, daff in addition to other musicians.
Since its founding in early 2024, Folklorita has performed across many venues in Egypt, and participated in many important festivals and other cultural events.

19th Egyptian National Theatre Festival
The festival kicks off on Saturday, 25 July 2026, with its opening ceremony at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House at 7.30pm
The festival will continue until 11 August 2026 under the slogan "In All of Egypt"
This year's edition expands beyond Cairo, with activities also taking place in Dakahlia Governorate, alongside performances across Cairo's major theatres.

El Sakia Puppet Theater School presents a special workshop for children (ages 10–15) to teach them design, shape, and how to create and play a marionette in just 15 hours.
El Sakia Puppet Theater School was founded by Mohamed El-Sawy in 2005. It has staged puppet shows of the legends Abdel Halim Hafez, Shadya, Fareed El Atrash, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Mohamed Munir, and Umm Kulthum.
They have produced 18 family friendly productions.
