According to the Egyptian presidency, the meeting, also attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, reviewed efforts to modernise pre-university and technical education and improve the quality of teaching.
Abdel Latif said technical education now serves around 2.35 million students enrolled in 3,213 specialized schools and remains a central part of Egypt's education reform strategy.
He said Egypt had signed agreements with Italy to establish 100 applied technology schools across a range of specializations beginning in the next academic year.
The minister also highlighted cooperation with Germany to expand German-Egyptian Technical Schools (GETS), including a recently signed declaration of intent with Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development to upgrade the schools and award graduates German-accredited certificates.
He said Egypt had also signed agreements with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to develop and operate 38 German-Egyptian technical schools starting next academic year.
Abdel Latif said the partnerships with Italy and Germany would help prepare graduates with skills aligned with labour market needs through technology- and industry-focused education.
The minister also reviewed cooperation with Japan's Hiroshima University, including the introduction of programming and artificial intelligence assessments through the Test of Fundamental Academic Skills (TOFAS), a financial literacy curriculum for secondary school students, and programming and AI courses for technical schools using Japan's QUREO platform.
He said the ministry was also working with Harvard University on teacher training programmes and with the International Baccalaureate Organization to update the Egyptian Baccalaureate curriculum in line with international standards.
According to the presidency, El-Sisi called for continuing education reforms and expanding international cooperation to improve education quality and better prepare students for the labour market.
