Egypt Armed Forces continue efforts to combat illegal gold ore mining in Eastern Desert

The Egyptian Armed Forces launched on Sunday the second phase of a major campaign to combat illegal gold ore mining in the Eastern Desert by intensifying sweeping and raid operations in areas found to have been used for such activities, in full coordination with all state agencies.

The Egyptian Armed Forces' official military spokesperson stated that the move follows the results achieved during the campaign’s first phase.

The move also comes as part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement personnel from the Armed Forces and civilian police, in coordination with all relevant authorities, to safeguard Egypt’s national resources and wealth.
