Operating under the name “8ones,” the schools will be established in cooperation with Italy’s ENGIM–Farma–Giulio Natta Academy and San Paolo Hospitality Academy.
The initiative aims to combine academic education with practical training in real working environments, using curricula developed with the Italian partners to meet domestic and international labour-market requirements.
Three schools will operate in partnership with the ENGIM–Farma–Giulio Natta Academy in Talkha, Daqahliya; Beni Suef; and Kafr El-Zayat, Gharbiya.
The remaining 12 schools will be established with the San Paolo Hospitality Academy in Aswan, Sohag, Assiut, Fayoum, Beheira, Giza, Cairo, Alexandria and Suez.
They include applied technology schools in Aswan, Sohag, Assiut, East Fayoum, Bandar Damanhour, East Nasr City, Badr, Nozha, East Alexandria, Central Alexandria and South Suez.
The October Applied Technology School in Giza will offer specializations in both hospitality and filmmaking.
The ministry said the expansion is part of Egypt’s strategy to modernize technical education, strengthen international and industry partnerships, and prepare graduates with the professional skills needed in productive and service sectors.
Applications can be submitted through the ministry’s technical education portal.
The 15 schools form part of a broader Egyptian-Italian technical education partnership signed in November 2025, covering 89 applied technology schools under 18 cooperation protocols.
The framework includes 16 schools in hospitality and mixed technical fields, alongside programmes in agriculture, food industries, pharmaceuticals, steel, water management, engineering and logistics.
Earlier announcements covered 26 agricultural schools, 10 agriculture and land-reclamation schools, five water and irrigation schools, seven steel schools and five electricity and energy schools.
Including the latest hospitality batch, at least 68 of the 89 planned schools have now been announced for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Egypt introduced the Applied Technology Schools model in 2018 to address the gap between technical education and employers’ requirements through competency-based curricula, workplace training and partnerships with companies and international institutions.
By the end of 2025, the network had expanded to 115 schools, while nearly one million students were enrolled in technical education in the 2024/2025 academic year.
The hospitality focus also comes as Egypt expands its tourism and hotel capacity and seeks to attract 30 million visitors annually.
Strong demand in destinations including the North Coast and Red Sea is increasing the need for professionally trained hotel and hospitality workers.
