Bahrain King expresses solidarity with Egypt after earthquake in phone call with El-Sisi

Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed his country's solidarity with Egypt following the earthquake that struck the country early Monday during a phone call with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, according to the Egyptian presidency.

King Hamad conveyed Bahrain's sincere wishes for Egypt's safety and affirmed the kingdom's support for the country in confronting the aftermath of the earthquake.

For his part, El-Sisi thanked the Bahraini monarch for his support, expressing Egypt's appreciation for the close fraternal ties between the two countries and their shared positions on regional issues and crises.

The president reaffirmed Egypt's unwavering support for Bahrain and strongly condemned the recent Iranian attacks on the kingdom's sovereignty and stability. He also praised the Bahraini leadership's efforts to safeguard the country's security and protect its people.

King Hamad, in turn, expressed appreciation for Egypt's steadfast support for Bahrain and its solidarity with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in addressing the challenges arising from recent military developments in the region.

He stressed Bahrain's commitment to achieving peace and a lasting political settlement that preserves the sovereignty of Arab states and serves the interests of their peoples, while highlighting Egypt's pivotal regional and international role.

The two leaders also reviewed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation by implementing the outcomes of Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa's visit to Egypt in September 2025, as well as activating the recommendations of the second session of the Egyptian-Bahraini Joint Governmental Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, held in Manama in February 2025.

El-Sisi also praised the care provided to the Egyptian community in Bahrain, expressing Egypt's appreciation for Egyptians' contributions to the kingdom's development.
