Captivating performances by students from the Gugak and the K-pop Academies
The Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) in Egypt organized the Korean Cultural Caravan at Anfoushi Cultural Palace in Alexandria on 5 August, bringing together visitors of all ages for a day of immersive cultural experiences celebrating the richness and diversity of Korean culture.
The programme, held from 11 am to 3 pm, featured a diverse lineup of educational, artistic, and interactive activities designed to offer participants a comprehensive introduction to the Korean language, traditions, and contemporary culture in an engaging and family-friendly atmosphere.
The Korean Cultural Caravan in Alexandria offered interactive language, arts, and performance activities.
The event opened with introductory Korean language sessions led by instructors from the Sejong Institute, who introduced beginners to the fundamentals of the Korean language and the Hangul alphabet. Visitors then participated in a variety of hands-on cultural workshops showcasing traditional Korean arts and crafts.
Attendees also enjoyed trying on the traditional Korean costume, Hanbok, taking commemorative photographs, playing traditional Korean folk games, and experiencing virtual reality tours of some of South Korea's most iconic tourist destinations.
These activities provided an engaging opportunity to experience Korean culture through learning, creativity, and direct participation.
A cultural exhibition accompanied the programme, displaying a variety of traditional Korean cultural items, including Hanbok models, Hanji paper crafts, and Minhwa folk paintings.
The event concluded with captivating performances by students from the Gugak and the K-pop Academies, presenting a dynamic blend of traditional Korean music and contemporary K-pop performances that reflected the diversity and vitality of Korea's cultural identity.
The Korean Cultural Caravan is part of a nationwide outreach initiative organized by the KCC in Egypt to bring Korean culture to governorates across the country.
Through educational programmes, cultural exhibitions, artistic performances, and interactive experiences, the initiative aims to foster mutual understanding and deepen cultural dialogue between South Korea and Egypt.
