Salah arrived in Trabzon on Wednesday night from Istanbul, where he underwent a medical earlier in the day.
The former Liverpool forward had already been greeted by Trabzonspor supporters in Istanbul after completing his move to the Turkish club, but said the reception at Trabzon Airport exceeded his expectations.
"I am extremely happy to be in this amazing atmosphere," Salah told Turkish website 61saat.
"I don't recall ever having seen anything like this before, and words fail to describe how happy I am.
"There are 25,000 people here. This is unbelievable. I have never seen anything like this."
Trabzonspor said Salah will be officially unveiled at a signing ceremony at Papara Park on Thursday.
Media reports said the 34-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Turkish side after ending a nine-year spell at Liverpool.
Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for the Merseyside club and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Liverpool's history.
His final season at Anfield, however, proved disappointing as his form declined sharply and he had a public falling-out with then-manager Arne Slot.
Salah scored 12 goals in all competitions last season after netting 34 in the previous campaign.
He announced in March that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the season despite having one year remaining on the contract he signed in 2025.
"I have achieved success everywhere, and I want to achieve success with Trabzonspor too, in the league and at European level," Salah said.
Trabzonspor, seven-time Turkish champions, finished third in the Super Lig last season and will play in the Europa League playoff round.
Club president Ertugrul Dogan thanked supporters for turning out in large numbers to welcome the Egyptian.
"Mohamed Salah is a world star. We thank the fans who came here," Dogan said.
"Our supporters have shown everyone how a world star should be welcomed."
