Blackburn Rovers will be the eighth club in Morsy’s career in England.
Speaking after completing his move, Morsy said: “I know a lot about the club because my mother was born here, and my grandparents and uncles are all from here. I know the area, the club and its supporters.”
“I’ve played against Blackburn on many occasions. It’s a great club with an exciting project and a good manager, so I can’t wait to get started,” he continued.
“I want to win and I’ll do anything to achieve that. This is a club I know everything about, and we want to build a good team for the fans,” Morsy added.
Morsy began his professional career at Port Vale in 2009 before spells with Chesterfield, Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough. At Wigan, he earned two promotions and was named the club’s Player of the Year for the 2019/20 season.
He joined Ipswich in 2021 where he made his name as captain of Ipswich Town, leading the club to successive promotions and featuring prominently during their 2024 Premier League campaign, making 33 top-flight appearances, before moving to join Kuwait SC last summer.
Morsy has represented Egypt at international level in nine games, making part of the Pharaohs squad that participated at the 2018 World Cup.
Blackburn Rovers finished 20th in the Championship with 52 points last season.
