The accident occurred on the Al-Dawawis link road near the Al-Shabab electricity station. The workers were reportedly travelling to their jobs when the crash took place.
The injured were transferred to Qassasin Central Hospital for treatment, while authorities continued gathering information on the victims and assessing the conditions of those injured.
Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar is closely monitoring the medical response and the treatment of the injured, the Health Ministry said.
The ministry’s crisis and emergency operations room is following developments in coordination with the Egypt Healthcare Authority and the Ismailia Health Directorate.
“The state of readiness at hospitals has been raised,” Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar said, adding that medical teams, medicines and essential supplies had been made available.
The minister directed healthcare providers to provide the injured with the highest level of medical care and to monitor their conditions continuously.
Security forces and ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene, while authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash and to determine responsibility.
Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy and Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad are following the aftermath of the accident and have directed their ministries to assist the victims’ families and those injured.
The two ministers instructed the Central Administration for Social Protection at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Central Administration for Irregular Workers at the Ministry of Labour, and the Ismailia Labour Directorate to urgently collect comprehensive information on the victims and assess the assistance required.
The ministries will provide financial assistance to the families of those killed, as well as aid to injured workers based on the severity of their injuries and the medical reports issued following the accident, in accordance with applicable regulations.
The two ministers offered their condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Road fatalities in Egypt rose by 10.8 percent to 5,829 in 2025, while injuries increased by 10.7 percent to 84,553, according to figures from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Children under 15 recorded the highest casualty toll among all age groups, with 1,580 deaths and 29,101 injuries in 2025.
