“Exactly one week ago, we set a new goal before us: 25,000 in total. Today, we are experiencing the pride of reaching that goal,” Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan said in a statement on Saturday.
Salah, 34, joined Trabzonspor as a free agent on a two-year contract reportedly worth around 34 million euros after a legendary spell with Liverpool.
“The great Trabzonspor fans have once again put their hands under the boulder, demonstrating their faith in and loyalty to the club. On behalf of our club, I extend my most sincere thanks to all our fans,” the statement added.
“Now, you are the ones who will set the new goal. Because we know that where there are Trabzonspor fans, no goal is ever the final one.”
Last week, Trabzonspor confirmed that an unprecedented 18,000 season tickets had already been sold for the 2026-27 campaign, setting a new benchmark in club history. The club said reaching 25,000 season-ticket sales was its next ambitious target.
“Now, we are all preparing together for a long journey. Our greatest strength on this journey is once again you,” Dogan said.
“25,000 times thank you.. Now it's time to carry this great unity onto the field.”
Alongside the club's announcement of the record-breaking ticket sales, local reports have highlighted the immediate and substantial financial windfall following the signing of Salah, who received a hero's welcome from the club's supporters.
Turkish channel HT Spor reported that Trabzonspor generated an estimated 12 million euros in revenue from season-ticket and Salah shirt sales in just three days.
Trabzonspor, seven-time Turkish champions, finished third in the Super Lig last season and will play in the Europa League playoff round.
