Ghana defender John Boye resumed trainings within preparations for the 2013 African Cup of Nations after recovering from a thigh injury while playing for Rennes in the French Ligue 1 against Troyes early this December.

"I resumed training and I believe I’m going to be fit for the UAE camp," Boye was quoted as saying on Ghanaian website Ghanasoccernet.

The Black Stars will camp in United Arab Emirates to prepare for the participation in CAN 2013 that kicks off on 19 January in South Africa.

"But I don’t have to rush to get back. I must take the recovery step by step so that I would be available for the AFCON," he added.

The 25-year-old defender, Boye was included in the Ghana national team's 23-man squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations since getting on Kwesi Appiah's key players list.
